AS I was reading your article, there were 3 things that I thought that might also aid in Fibromyalgia..
The first thought is cleaning out the intestines, I like mago 7 by Aerobic Life Industries. It is 'a maagnesium based stabilized oxygen compound'. It will literally blast the plaque off the inside of our intestines, and the pockets in the intestines. It is a non evasive way of cleaning the intestines. Of course you want follow up with a good digestive enzyme and a good acidophilus. (Mago 7 is not something you want to do on a regular basis, maybe a few (i.e 3)times a year). I have read that our intestines will create little micro tears that food particles will leach out of, and the food particles will attach themselves on to the muscle. So I believe it is very important to have healthy intestines.

The next would be Devils Claw, it is an anti-inflammatory, it rates right up there with cortisone without the side effects. It is also a deep cell cleaner. I can't say enough about this herb!!!

The last being a good alkaline water, I prefer ion ways water. Degenerative disease thrives in an acidic condition of the blood and body tissues. This water is alkaline, anti-oxidizing, oxygen-rich, super-hydrating (cells included).

I know as a massage therapist/holistic health practitioner that myofascial work is very good. I work light on people with Fibromyalgia, I really try to listen and watch their bodies. Their bodies are already inflamed, and I found that if I use deep or firm pressure it could agitate the clients body. I use intent, and work slow this will heat up the tissue and help release it.

I am not a Dr. by any means, and don't take responsibility of the above suggestions. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on this subject.
Thank you

Hi, Dr. G. Thanks for the great article. I was wondering... are lutein and zeaxantin destroyed by heat during steaming?

I use a magnet tool along with Structural Relief Therapy to assist the body processes that reduce the inflammation reaction. I describe such tools at http://magnet-therapy-how-why.com
The most common originating triggers are paraspinals around the 11th and 12th thoracic vertebra which are also affecting digestion and therefor absorption of nutrients that moderate inflammation.

Thank you for sharing this article. I work with a client who has many of these issues and has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia by at least 1 doctor. Myofascial release does give her some relief, however, lately the relief is short term and by the next day she is in even more pain. What is an example of the natural substance you refer to in #3 of the article? I would also appreciate more suggestions of resources to learn more about this.
Thanks,
Teri Beckman

It was very interesting to note how little vitamin D is available in foods. It underscores the importance of getting out in the sun enough. However, I'd like to expand on the statement, "it only takes 10-15 minutes of sunlight a couple of times per week to really help maintain good levels." For instance, if you live most anywhere in the US or Canada you simply cannot make enough vitamin D between Fall and Spring when the sun is low in the sky. It also depends on the time of day; UVB is responsible for triggering vitamin D production and is strongest in the middle of the day being filtered out in the morning and evening. So it seems that at least for much of the year, supplementation is necessary if you want to achieve optimal vitamin D levels.
